Traditions, Holidays & Holydays

Jewish traditions are near and dear to us at The Rock and we take them seriously. It is our desire to honor those traditions and pass them down to the next generation by teaching the Biblical and cultural significance  of the Holydays. Many people are surprised when they learn what the Scriptures have to say about Jewish customs, traditions, holidays and holydays. Our Messiah celebrated and honored every Biblical Jewish holyday and so do we.

Why You Might Not Hear

"Christ" so Much

At The Rock of Israel, we are sensitive to the sufferings and persecutions the Jewish people have suffered and endured over the centuries. From the Crusades to the Spanish Inquisition to the Pogroms and all the way up to the Holocaust and beyond, Jews have have been wrongfully accused, blamed and mistreated for the death of the Messiah and their refusal to "convert". Many Jews can easily recall being called "Christ-killer" and other horrible name as they were growing up. It is out of sensitivity to that expression that we use the term "Messiah" and other Jewish terms more frequently than Christ. Other examples include:

Yeshua - Jesus

Ha Mashiach - Messiah, Christ

Ruach Ha'Kodesh - The Holy Spirit
